What Are AUG A3 CQC Owners Saying About Their New CQC AUG
Pete,

The Steyr AUG CQC arrived at Gander Mountain yesterday and I picked it up.

Today, I took 1/2 day off from work and went to the range (even though it was 23-degrees out, wet and snowy).

The Leupold scope I ordered has not arrived yet, so in the meantime, I took the UTG scope off my AR and put it on.  Only took about 6 shots to zero it in.

It worked beautifully. I got a few oooh's and aaahhh's from the other shooters (i'm sure next time i'm there when it's warmer, it will get a lot more lookey-loo's).

Contrary to a lot of the internet chatter, I found the trigger to be quite comfortable and not too heavy at all. I can see why some people may want to make it lighter, but I'm good with it.

There was noticeably less felt recoil than with my .223 AR. Can't wait to take it out again and put some holes in more "reactive" targets.

Other than a custom .308 sniper rifle that I had built by Les Baer, this is the first time I ever purchased a firearm sight unseen. I was a little concerned, especially with the price point.  However, based on your reputation, the lack of negative comments about your company on the internet (I couldn't find ANY), and the policies you put forth on your website, I decided to take the chance. You did not disappoint and I appreciate your professionalism and business practices.

I'm in the process of getting my FFL and hopefully Class 2 & 3.  I look forward to doing much more business with you in the future.

Thanks again.
Richard

Hi Pete,

Picked up the CQC today and am very pleased. Already added a couple of accessories I had on hand and got her sighted in. Wanted to thank you again and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. On a side note I have sent these shots to some friends who also own prebans, so hopefully I can generate some more business for you.

Best
Tim

Hi Pete!

I had a chance to run some rounds though the CQC today and have to say
that it's the best military style rifle I've shot. Smooth, reliable,
minimal felt recoil, and the balance is amazing. I love it and hope to
buy a second one in the near future (or at least the rails so I can
modify an A3 down the road).

There are two things I think that could be tweaked in a "2.0" version
would improve an already excellent piece of kit. The first would deal
with the area around the button that's pressed to release the lock
holding the rail cage to the primary rail. I was thinking that the area
around the button could be countersunk a little so that when you press
it with your thumb that there's extra room for the thumb's pad.

The second would be to number the rails, if only the top one.

Regardless, I think this is a fantastic piece and I can't recommend
it highly enough. Everyone who handled it loved it.

Hello Pete:

I picked up the CQC this week. Really happy with it -  haven't shot it yet though. I'll keep you posted. Does the barrel need to be broken in?

Thanks

Hi Pete,

I received the 2 CQC A3 AUGs on Friday from BZ Gunz. Absolutely beautiful. You have done a fantastic job with the CQC. Thank you so much for the consecutive serial numbers, pricing and the extras you included. Please let me know of any future AUG developments. I hope to see you again when I visit the area in December. Have a very Happy and Joyous Holiday Season.

Pete,

I just wanted to let you know that everything arrived, and I picked up the CQC at the store with no problems.
I took the CQC to the range and tried it out - everything is great, I simply love this rifle.

I wanted to thank you for all you effort on my behalf, and tell you how my I appreciate your excellent service.

Additionally, we had talked about getting one of the Austrian scopes, but I wanted to let you know that after thinking about it, I decided to go with an Eotech holo-sight instead. So no need to hold onto one of the scope for me, I'll pass for now.

Lastly, I'm thinking that I need three more 42-round mags. How would I go about getting these from you?

Regards,
Steve

Pete,

Finally had a chance to pick up the rifle from the dealer. I must say, your work on the CQC package is masterful. The fit of the rail system as well as ease to disassemble is simply amazing.

I do have a few questions:
-Can 5.56 and .223 ammo run through the gun? Next to the Steyr stamp, it shows just .223, but the barrel is stamped with both. If it will accept both rounds, which would you recommend?

-Does the rifle need to be oiled prior to shooting?

Thank you again

Pete,

I finally got the CQC out to the range - it sure is a lot of fun.  Definitely different manual of arms from my ARs but I like it.  The CQC rail is amazing - it isn't often you find a rail system that is so tight and solid yet so easy to take apart.  Normally that doesn't happen!

Thanks!
Ty

Pete,

Excellent weapon, makes the M4 seem almost like an antique, and you should be very proud of your input into that front rail system on the CQC, works perfect... I wish I could buy another from you as I see a black cloud coming, please let know if and when you get those austrian scopes in. Thanks again for CQC carbine, it is tier one, best and a huge leap over the early A1s...but I still like the early ones too... AUGS were just way ahead of their time...
